Ansonia FFA Parliamentary Procedure Results
On December 2nd at Ansonia, the Ansonia FFA varsity and novice parliamentary procedure teams met to compete in the County Parliamentary Procedure CDE. The varsity team included Megan Bergman as President, Amber Bergman as Secretary, and John Fischer, Cierra Longenecker, Katelyn McKenna, and Katie Werts as members. The novice team included Tyler Neal as President, Kayla Saintingnon as Vice President, Megan Christman as Treasurer, Savanna Boggs as Advisor, Lucas Meyers as member, Aleesha Gates as Secretary, Alyssa Armock as Reporter, and Sam Rhodes as Sentinel. Teams present were all from local Darke County schools, and during this competition competitors had to conduct a business meeting in the correct manor. They had to demonstrate proper uses of Parliamentary Law, and beforehand they had to take a test on all proper proceedings of a meeting. In the end the Ansonia Varsity Team went home with first place out of six teams. The novice team pulled through with second out of nine teams.
Both of Ansonia’s teams went on to the District Parliamentary Procedure CDE competition on December 10th at Miami Valley CTC. Nerves rose as teams competed for a chance to go to State; during this competition Ansonia’s teams did very well once more. The varsity team finished in third out of eight teams, and the novice team finished fourth out of eight teams. Sadly neither team qualified to go on to state, but nevertheless we are still very proud of our team’s results and all the hard work they put into the preparation for this event.
